The Fall 06:35
The fall The strain The time it took The place The thought That brought me through The fall Oh pain The way it shook In light To face the way it was The time A fight for life it was The fall The fall The time The way she moved The thought The fall The fall The strain The time it took A space A fight That brought me through The fall Oh pain The way you looked My faith With time It served me right The thoughts A light That burned so bright The fall The fall The strain The time it took A place A thought That brought me through The fall The fall The fall The fall

Tempers pass me by But still Can't escape the ghost of will Aimlessly drifting Nevertheless Dwell once again In an equal nest Pose in the Strangling wheel of fume Circular beauty Circular doom Guarding the child with the eyes of spleen What does the coexistence mean Chasing the ceiling Loosing the grip Endlessly seeking the barrier strip Peal the cutis off Let the flesh respire Crooked corridors Gently burning fire

It is too shy to show its ugly face Swallowed the hook Choked in the chain Dragged me to where the dry waters leak With nothing to loose And nothing to gain They tickled my chin with feathers But this is no laughing matter Consuming the plastic letters Again I'm taming the dancing demon It moves on forbidden ladders To poison the flesh with semen Again Marching towards the secret boneless farm Humming the tune Of innocent sprain It goes beyond my deepest days of sleep Rusty the pin Greeting the vein They tickled my chin with feathers But this is no laughing matter Consuming the plastic letters Again I'm taming the dancing demon It moves on forbidden ladders To poison the flesh with semen Again Taming

Mourning over what was never there to loose As heavy weight of beauty proves how angels bruise How I wish you could be here As companions we could easily escape Must this darkness interfere How am I supposed to throw it all away And I close my eyes so hard Every lash will fall like snow It will end before it starts Nerves are only slaves I know Entertained by deep despair I will make it out I swear Laughing as I pull my hair Missing what was never there Mourning over what was never there to loose Heavy weight of beauty proves how angels bruise How I wish you could be here As companions we could easily escape Must this darkness interfere How am I supposed to throw it all away And I close my eyes so hard Every lash will fall like snow It will end before it starts Nerves are only slaves I know Entertained by deep despair I will make it out I swear Laughing as I pull my hair Missing what was never there

about

Noun

Saprotroph (plural saprotrophs)

An organism that lives off of dead or decaying organic material by secreting enzymes into it and then absorbing its nutrients.

Saprotroph came to life in 2011. It was originally intended as a three track EP consisting of “Circular Beauty, Circular Doom”, “Taming The Dancing Demon”, and “Missing What Was Never There”.

I didn't fully understand what it was that I was composing, where it came from, or why. But I did know that it was real and important, so I kept on working until it eventually became too much for me. I abandoned it in late autumn 2012, put it aside, discarded it as an experiment, and something that simply wasn't worth putting more energy into.

In the spring of 2016 I found the old project files, and decided that I would give the songs another chance and at least listen to them again. I was immediately blown away by what I was hearing. It felt like I could finally understand it, and it was clear that I had to finish this EP.

Along with those files I found another project containing a soundscape I had recorded around the same time, which I back then knew had the potential of becoming the backdrop for a 4th song. I had tried on many occasions to compose something around it, but kept failing, and gave up. On a cloudy day in August 2016, I looked at that project again. Within what felt like minutes, “The Fall” was born. It was as if the clouds had lifted, and I had been enlightened with a sudden flow of creativity and inspiration.

Here we are in September 2017, and I can finally share Saprotroph with the world.

Letting go.
